How can waiting be productive?
When we initially think of waiting, productivity doesn’t immediately come to mind. In addition, waiting feels counter productive, but it is often necessary.
Just think about what would happen if you didn’t wait for traffic to clear before you crossed the street. In order for you to safely make it across the road you must wait.
A waiting season is an opportunity for you to grow. Use this time to grow closer to God or even work on fun things you normally wouldn’t have time for.
- Trust in His perfect timing
- Put time and effort into your relationship with Jesus
- Take little action steps where you feel called
having Patience in a season of waiting
Waiting, often requires a bit of patience.
If you find yourself restless in this waiting season, focus on practicing patience.
- Focus on enjoying the present moment
- Slow down -Rest + Relax
- Rely on God and His word
Besides, patience is one of the fruits of the Spirit.
When we find ourselves waiting it is a good opportunity to practice patience.

God waits for us too
God is working in the waiting, and you should be too. But how?
God waits for us to come to Him. Sometimes we may not be ready for what is next, and God will have us wait. However, that doesn’t mean we sit on our hands and do nothing.
In order to move on you must be ready, and willing. Make an effort to grow in your relationship with Christ.
How do you feel God is preparing you during this season? What do you think He is working on in you during this time?
people in the bible who waited
There are many examples of Gods people waiting in the Bible. Their stories can help us understand how to walk faithfully through a season of waiting. Here are just a few examples:
- Hannah waited for a child. We see in 1Samuel 1:15 that she waited so long she became “sorrowful in spirit”. After many prayers, an unknown amount of years, and a promise to God she became the mother to the prophet Samuel. And, later five more children. Read about Hannah in 1Samuel 1:2-2:21.
- David waited 15 years to be king Peter 3:9
- Abraham and Sarah were promised an heir. They waited 25 before Sarah became pregnant.
- Moses waited 40 years to led the Israelites out of Egypt.

Waiting with integrity
God wants your attention.
Integrity – the state of being whole or undivided.
While your waiting grow closer to God. Give Him your undivided attention.
Don’t waist the waiting, use this time to pursue Him diligently.
Lean on Him.
What is pulling your attention away from Him?
Finding Joy in a waiting season
Waiting isn’t typically enjoyable.
It is important to find things and people that bring you joy. Focus on all the little blessings that each day holds.
What can you spend more time doing that brings you joy?
Learn to Rest
Rest is important, so important that the creator of the universe took a break and rested on the seventh day of creation.
A waiting season is a great time to slow down and rest.
Take a break from the business, stress, and chaos of everyday life.
Now is the time to rest and relax.
How can you indulge in this opportunity to rest?
don't be discouraged in your waiting season
Certainly, waiting can leave you feeling discouraged, but I want to ENCOURAGE you to stay focused on God and what He has placed on your heart.
We can have hope and look forward to what is to come because His timing is perfect. And, He has a good and perfect plan for your life. So, don’t let this season steal the joy of the present and of what’s to come.
You may feel tempted to quit in the waiting, but faithfully wait on the Lord.
God's plan is worth the wait
His plan and purpose for your life is so worth the wait.
His timeline most likely looks different than yours. We are focused on the now. But He sees into eternity.
God wants the best for us. So, while we are waiting we can wait hopeful and expectant of what’s to come.
Conclusion
In conclusion, waiting on Gods best can be difficult, but it is so worth the wait!
Remember, He is with you in the waiting.
